with Djapo Cultural Arts Institute

Have fun with the entire family with this FREE African Dance Workshop with Djapo Cultural Arts Institute.

Djapo is a Wolof word meaning “come together.” Community Dance & Drum is one of many components to Djapo Cultural Arts Institute founded by Talise A. Campbell, Artistic Director. The main focus is to bring individuals from various backgrounds together to learn about their similarities and differences through traditional dance and music.

Join Karamu House for this FREE "In the Tradition" program to celebrate Black History Month. Our "In the Tradition" community program series features free and culturally-specific offerings that speak directly to the African American experience throughout the year, including MLK Day, Kwanzaa, and Juneteenth, among others.

The Karamu House "Our Roots Run Deep" Black History Month program series is presented by ERIEBANK.
