ABOUT THE PLAY
During a fierce Cleveland mid-winter storm, estranged siblings are reunited by their father’s sudden death. In the midst of closing his failing Indian restaurant, a regular customer claims to know much about their father and their family secrets.  This spicy comedy serves up a complex platter of sibling rivalry, unlikely friendships, and brash perceptions of race, gender and success.

“…intriguing.” – Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune

Simply brilliant.” – Michael Roberts, ShowBizChicago

A beautifully unfolding chamber drama…highly engaging.  The Lake Effect is an intelligent, empathic look at dysfunction and unlikely bonds, ultimately prescribing the rejection of anger and the value of connection over pride and possessions. The fact that it is also a play about American people of color makes it all the more relevant.” – Daniel J. Kushner, Rochester City Newspaper
