KARAMU HOUSE - ARENA THEATRE
The life and legacy of Dr. King’s service to the community will be honored with a Day of Service to Karamu House.
The implementation of efficient spaces and operations are integral to Karamu 2.0. Volunteers will receive a hands-on behind-the-scenes look at theatre operations while assisting with the renovation of our theatrical stage properties (props) room.
Through this project, community can contribute “sweat equity” to this historic institution as Karamu partners. Volunteers may join 1 of 4 teams – transport, organize, and trash or clean:
Transport – Fill bins with props, take to main organization space for categorizing, repeat. Assist with organization/sort prior to retrieving new items. Take organized item bins to new shelving space.
Organize – Take transported props, sort and organize into designated categories and bins.
Trash – Move trash piles to designated dump areas.
Cleaners (volunteer-permitting) – Wipe down, dust items as necessary.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, RSVP REQUIRED.
ALL VOLUNTEERS 14 AND UNDER MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
