This one-woman play features award-winning actress of stage and screen, Vanessa Bell Calloway who is a native daughter of the Karamu House. Letters From Zora consists of authentic personal letters from celebrated poet Zora Neale Hurston to close friends like Langston Hughes and Countee Cullen.  Fused with fictional narrative to illuminate her life, her extraordinary career, and her contributions to the American literary canon, this spirited two-act production brings Hurston’s words to life.  Performances of this zesty play, written by Gabrielle Denise Pina and directed by Anita Dashiell-Sparks, will be held in the newly renovated Jelliffe Theatre.
